Hillsboro Junior High Tournament on October 11th

All players will be needed for the 8th grade tournament in October. We will all need to bring something for the tournament whether it be bars or buns, and the 7th graders will be needed for line judging and helping with the concessions. It will be an exciting day of volleyball for the junior high!

7th Graders is Larimore

The bus will leave from the High School at 7:30 Saturday morning to reach Larimore in time for our first game at 9:00. There are four rounds again this tournament and we play the 1st, 3rd, and 4th ones. Let's have a great tournament!

Awesome Night!

Everyone played well against Thompson...7th graders had their best score yet, and 8th graders were ready to play! I can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds for us.

1st 7th Grade Tournament!

Volleyball is a sport of ups and downs and we had our share this weekend, but I feel we had more ups than downs. We had many great serves this weekend and a ton of awesome volleys! It was fun to watch us when we were ready to play. We need to continue to work off of those great moments and let the others pass us by and not bog down our spirit with negative feelings. We are all going to make mistakes as that is part of the process of learning. We just need to learn from our errors so as not to repeat them as frequently. I feel we are getting to that point. We ARE improving everyday!

Have a great rest of your weekend and remember to do those 25 sit-ups and push-ups every day.

I am proud of each and every one of you!

1st Victory

Way to go gals! We have been working hard each day in practice and finally saw the results we were hoping for. Girls were getting their serves over and things are falling into place. I am proud of each and every one of the 7th & 8th graders.

1st Match

I think we are off to a great start! I saw many good things tonight and a few things we need to work on, but overall I am super pleased with our effort tonight. Let's keep learning from our mistakes and work hard to keep them from creeping up again.

Keep up with your push-ups and sit-ups it will only help us with that upper body strength to get those serves over the net!

Good work, Ladies!

Labor Day Practice

We will be practicing Monday, September 1st from 6:00-7:30 in the evening since we don't have school that day. This is needed to help us prepare for our first match with Central Cass the next day. Remember to eat a good meal with some pasta to help fuel up for the games!

Button Pictures

Wednesday, August 27th we will take time before practice to take pictures for buttons. I will be handing out forms for you to bring on that day.

Whew! One Week Down.

The girls had a great week of practice. We have put in a lot of material for the girls to digest, but they seem to be catching on nicely.

Don't forget to keep reviewing your material so you can be ready for practice when we start moving along at game pace. I am pleased with the progress you are making as far as technique goes for our many skills.

I am very proud of each of the girls for giving the team their best effort this week, lets keep up this hard working trend!

Enjoy your weekend off, but don't forget those sit-ups and push-ups!

Day 4

The girls are just clipping along with our serve receive rotation. It is a difficult concept to grasp, but once we have it down it will only help them in the long run as they continue their volleyball careers.

Everyone has their information slips into me and I have read all the goals the girls have written and I can see us reaching many of those goals by the end of the season if we continue to work hard like we have been.

Today we learned the value of communication in volleyball and we will continue to stress its importance and show examples of both verbally and physically communicating with our team mates.

Remember to keep up with your 25 push-ups and sit-ups each day. That will help you reach your goals in serving! Also if you are sore (which you should be!) keep stretching at home.

See you tomorrow at noon.

Day 2

Another good practice from all. I was impressed with our form during our first day of serving at the net. Keep in mind it all starts with a good toss and ends with the power from our legs working its way on out our arm.
Remember to keep stretching in the evening to help keep those newly worked muscles relax. We will be starting our serve receive formation in the next few days, so be prepared for more brain work on top of our brawn. As always keep asking questions and we will see you tomorrow at 4:oo.
